Michael Andrec
Ukrainian History and Education Center Archivist
Somerset, NJ
I am a "lone arranger" responsible for all aspects of archives operations at the Ukrainian History and Education Center, particularly the arrangement and description of extensive legacy collections of personal papers and other textual records. In addition, the UHEC has some some of the most significant holdings of Ukrainian recorded sound in the world, and I have working extensively on in-house digitization of magnetic tape. I have interest and expertise in Ukrainian and Ukrainian American cultural and religious history, and audio preservation and digitization. In addition, I have a background in data analytics and experience in software and web development, particularly in the GLAM sector. Since 2021, I have also been working as an archives consultant for the Shevchenko Scientific Society in New York, NY.
